What the papers say about Christopher's...

“Christopher’s was full when I arrived on a midweek
evening. First we had a drink in the bar downstairs…I had
a straightforward vodka and tonic which was excellent.
The restaurant upstairs is grand…I ordered the New York Shrimp
Cocktail and my friend had the Maryland crab cake with red pepper
mayo – the prawns were tasty, firm and meaty and the crab
cake was fresh and moreish and the mayo neatly piquant.
For the main course, I went for the surf n turf and my friend had
the 10oz rib eye. (The beef) is extremely high quality and head
chef Francis Agyepong treats it simply. This is the best part about
Christopher’s.
The shoestring fries were hot and delicious. We had an excellent
bottle of red burgundy.
Puddings of note include a caramelised ginger cream with poached
pears and pecan tart.”
“…the best New England cooking I have eaten outside
Boston”
Matthew Norman
“This casual-elegant eaterie’s dining room is spacious,
with huge windows, a creamy colour scheme, and polite, friendly
staff. At the moment the modern American menu is the best it’s
been in a long while”
"Christopher's is to the big chiefs of politics what The Ivy
is to the theatre crowd, a place where your name is known and you
can guarantee being seen"
The Observer Food Monthly
"There is a touch of class about the upmarket American menu
in this sumptuous dining room"
“Very Upper East Side: cool, sophisticated and fabulously
glamourous... flawless Bloody Marys”

"Arguably the best American fare this side of the Atlantic,
Christopher's buttery-soft grilled steaks and sumptuous seafood
present a delectable denouement to an evening of theatre-hopping
nearby. The setting is fit for the stage too with sweeping views
of Waterloo Bridge from an elegant victorian perch. After dinner,
slide into a booth with a martini, the favourite yankee cocktail,
at the restaurant's new dark and dreamy martini bar"

"The modern American cuisine gets top marks, from a superb Cobb salad & a thick, juicy 14oz New York strip steak, to scrumptious peach Melba to round things off. Eggs benedict and pancakes make it equally good weekend brunches."
for the
"
The refurbished plush velvet & tan leather lounge bar at American restaurant Christopher's is dedictaed to that most American of drinks, the Martini. On the second Monday of each month, they hold classes to demonstrate the considerable art of mixing a drink that super spy James Bond decreed should be 'large and very strong and very cold and very well made." Much like it's well mixed Martinis, Christopher's is stylish, sexy and sophisticated."
